Title:
Display freezes for a few seconds
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi Guys,
I'm running Kubuntu on an Acer E1-571, that has an Intel HD 4000
graphics chip. Everything is running smoothly, except for this bug,
which causes the screen to completely freeze for 5 to 15 seconds.
While it's frozen, I can still hear the audio from whatever apps are
running, and if I press any keys (like F12 for Yakuake) their actions
seem to be performed in the background even though the screen is
frozen.
It seems as though the freezes are entirely random, as the screen
sometimes freezes when the laptop isn't doing anything at all. While
the screen is frozen, the mouse cursor can freely move over the frozen
image, and even click on the buttons that are behind it, though you
have to wait for it to unfreeze to see what you clicked on.
