Title:
  External monitor not found when connected a second time

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  The second time an external monitor is plugged in during the same
  session, it is not automatically found.

  Steps to reproduce:
   * Connect a screen to the laptop with a HDMI cable. Make sure it shows up as an extensions of the current screen (not mirroring it)
   * Disconnect the screen
   * Connect it again (without rebooting the computer)
   * This time, the screen will not be found

  Workaround:
   1. Open settings/displays, and the screen will be identified. You don't have to press ”apply” or anything, just opening the settings is enough.
   2. Reboot the computer before attaching the external monitor the second time

  Occurs in:
  Ubuntu 13.10 and Ubuntu 13.04
