Message #102107
[Bug 1328149] Re: Xorg freeze
Richard Skifton, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xorg 1328149
Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.
As well, given the information from the prior release is already
available, testing a release prior to the development one would not be
helpful.
Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Xorg freeze
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Upon booting the machine, and after login, the dual display is just 1
big display centered on the two monitors. There is no panal or
launcher. The mouse is active, but there is nothing to click on.
If I boot with the VGA secondary display unplugged from the laptop, it
will fully boot and everything will look as normal. If I then plug in
the secondary monitor after fully booted in, the displays will adjust
themselves and work. The only downfall to this is that windows will
only maximize up to the size of the smaller screen (i.e. laptop's
display). So the secondary monitor (22" Acer) is not utilized to its
maximum capacity.
