[Bug 1324800] Re: network-manager does not save vpn (openvpn) password anymore

I am experiencing the same issue. This seems to be related to a recent
gnome-keyring upgrade.

As a workaround, downgrading gnome-keyring from
3.10.1-1ubuntu4.2 to 3.10.1-1ubuntu4:

sudo apt-get install gnome-keyring=3.10.1-1ubuntu4

solves the problem for me.

Title:
network-manager does not save vpn (openvpn) password anymore

Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:

  Hello,

I am using network-manager to connect to an openvpn vpn and for a
couple of days now, network-manager does not keep or save the password
for the vpn anymore. I have to input the password again and again
every time I do connect to the vpn.

It used to work before, so this is probably a regression.

  Currently installed network-manager packages

This is an xubuntu 14.04 64 bits machine with all patches applied.
  $ lsb_release -rd
  Description:	Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
  Release:	14.04

The attached screenshot shows the options dialog of network-manager
for the openvpn passwd. I blacked out the username. The field for
password never keeps the password if I save the openvpn settings
  dialog.
