an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available
(2101). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

  screen doesn't go to sleep

  I have set settings to "screen sleeps after 30 minutes". But it
  doesn't. I got up last night to switch the screens off because the
  light was bothering me. A while ago, I reported a bug that screen
  wouldn't sleep after ctrl-L while it would sleep otherwise. Now it's
  the other way round.
