Message #102573
[Bug 1325177] Re: Low resolution after upgrading from 12.04 to 14.04
xavierc03, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xorg 1325177
Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.
As well, given the information from the prior release is already
available, testing a release prior to the development one would not be
helpful.
Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Low resolution after upgrading from 12.04 to 14.04
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have recently upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04. After that, I realised that resolution of ther screen is set to low resolution and I don't have the opportunity to change it (there is only the low resolution option).
However, if I launch the recovery mode distro, then the resolution is correct (I have the option to switch between high and low resolutions).
I tried to repare the xorg.conf file but unfortunately I didn't succeed.
Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Release: 14.04
I run "apt-cache policy pkgname" but pkgname packet was not found
Thanks in advance and kind regards.
