If you do a fresh install with a supported release is this still an
issue?

  Ubuntu starting problem

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I have three operating system installed like Windows XP, Windows 7 and
  Ubuntu. The default OS is Ubuntu. When I starting my computer,
  selection automatically highlighted  to Windows 7 and then still.
  Again when I selected ubuntu and press enter, screen is repeatedly
  print the character and number like "[<4<" . After some time screen
  continuously flickering and waiting for enter to stable the system.
