Title:
Firefox starts downloading in background without user content
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: firefox
When you click on a download-able link in Firefox it pops up a 'Save
As/ Open With' window. But by this time firefox has already started
downloading the file in background in /tmp with a .part extension (in
my linux distro). This may not seem such an issue with files that you
need but sometimes you click some links mistakenly. This issue is
aggravating for users like me who have a hi speed but limited
bandwidth internet connection as this behavior wastes bandwidth. Also
there does not seem be an option in about:config to change this
behavior.
