What I say you about my graphic card is what Forum members on Ubuntu-fr.org told me: My graphic card is no more supported and they suggest I replace it.
I know nothing about repairing computers. I am used to open it and go on Windows with no problems. 
The problem arose with my first try with Linux and I asked for help on a french forum since this is my native language.

  Lost screen

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I regularly lost image on my screen. This happen instantly and I believe this is a graphic card issue with Ubuntu since it work correctly with Windows.
  I get stuck with vertical lines grey/blue screen image  and the only solution is to restart the computer. No more icons, mouse pointer or anything else.

  This is my first try with Linux, with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a desktop
  with 2,2 Ghz processor; 250 Gb hard disk; 1Gb RAM and ATI Radeon
  Xpress 200 card.

  I don't have this problem with Windows XP on the same computer.
