regarding this being fixed by removing fglrx. For future reference you
can manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the current status
in the yellow line and then choosing a new status in the revealed drop

  i am having difficulties with my hd 4780 graphics card in general. i
  would like to install some drivers that would allow me just to use it,
  i am not playing video games or any such thing, i would just like to
  be able to use two monitors.
