Title:
Large fonts not shown if antialiasing is off

Status in software-center package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I am using Xubuntu 14.04.2 LTS, 64 bit
  Software-center: 13.10-0ubuntu4.1
  LibreOffice Writer: 4.4.0.3-3

  Problem:
  ----------
If antialiasing is turned off some large fonts are not shown.
This is present in software-center, but also in libre writer.

  Description:
  --------------
I prefer fonts with no antialiasing (headache otherwise). If I turn it off in Appearances, everything seems fine (see software center 1.png), except that antialiasing IS used on large fonts.

I need to have a fonts.conf file in ~/.config/fontconfig folder so
that Firefox and Thunderbird turns off antialiasing too.

If this file is present (software center 2.png) some of the letters disappear.
The same can be "achieved" with libre writer by zooming in. No problem until a certain percent (~160%) then some letters disappear, and OK again from ~440%. This problem was present in every version on writer that I have ever used.

I tried infinality, but could not turn off antialiasing if it was
  installed.

Can there be a solution to this?
