Title:
Impossible to unlock lock screen for user without password
Status in unity-greeter package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
One of the options in Ubuntu when creating a user is to give that user
no password. On the login screen, one simply clicks a button to log
such a user in. On the lock screen, however, one is required to enter
a password. Entering no password doesn't work, and entering a random
password doesn't work. The user without a password is stuck on the
lock screen forever.
I was able to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS. It's a
fairly serious issue since the default system behavior is to
automatically lock after a few minutes.
An emergency workaround is to click the Change User button to return
to the main login screen, and then proceed from there.
