[Bug 948322] Re: Rhythmbox sync to library deleted all my music files

I just wanted to note, that I did not "sync" I simply added my music
folder. It decided I guess to "sync" automatically, or it just decided
it wanted to delete my files.

Deletion of any files "en masse" is a dangerous thing regardless of file
contents, hence why I suggested it be a "critical" issue.

Title:
Rhythmbox sync to library deleted all my music files

Status in rhythmbox package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I use an external usb drive to store my music, I added the music
folder on my external usb as the library in preferences. Now when I
did this it did not look like it was adding anything to the library so
I clicked import folder and imported the music folder from the
external usb drive. This imported all my files however they did not
show up in library under music, showed all my files under devices
which is not what I wanted as it was having to rescan the library
every time I started the program. Then I clicked the sync to library
button which deleted all my files without so much as asking me. Ubuntu
  12.04 beta 1 and rhythmbox 2.95.
