[Bug 1391038] Re: simple-scan does not recognize canon LiDE30 scanner

Hello Peter,

I think that this comes from sane-backends.

I switch it to this package.

Please can you run

SANE_DEBUG_DLL=3 scanimage -L

on a terminal, attach the output here and set the status back to
confirmed

Thanks

Jörg

Title:
simple-scan does not recognize canon LiDE30 scanner

Status in sane-backends package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Mint 16 *and* Mint 17
Plug in USB scanner, start simple scan. It shows a spinner but never connects and scans.
Strangely, the scanner is shown properly in the preferences!
      Canon CanoScan N1240U/LiDE30
The scanner makes some noises but does not scan.

This used to work under Mint16 until some upgrade pooched it.
