  There are a few software pages that will not load in the Software Center. Add/Remove Applications, 
  Ubuntu 9.10
  Kernel Linux 2.6.31-21-generic-pae.
  Gnome 2.28.1
  I know the distribution is no longer receiving support, however this is a universal problem, yes?
