Ok, symlink '/usr/bin/abrowser' points to /usr/bin/firefox which points
to my own startup script.

So fixed with:
sudo mv /usr/bin/firefox{,.custom}
sudo mv /usr/bin/firefox.original /usr/bin/firefox

Also set the default browsers to chromium with:
sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
sudo update-alternatives --config gnome-www-browser
to avoid starting the old firefox version inadvertently (which always causes problems).

I will also have to set the BROWSER variable in .bashrc correctly.

I might uninstall the firefox package completely or use ubuntuzilla
instead.

Bug description:
  I just did a "sudo apt-get update" and then "sudo apt-get upgrade".
  I do have a firefox installation in my home directory with firefox 6.0.1 (to have the latest version) and /usr/bin/firefox linked to it (through a custom script). I guess that might cause problems during upgrades.
