A fix has been committed
(https://github.com/hardening/FreeRDP/commit/27c5b5b22402c3934c6b892bbce5d0e016769390)
this should land in 1.2. I have tested with just xfreerdp and the crash
no longer occurs with both mao and za layouts.

  3) What is expected to happen is when one has their default keyboard
  setting set to en_US > System Settings... > Text Entry > change to
  Input sources to use: Maori > close window > secondary click the Text
  Input tray icon and change from English to Maori > restart > open
  Remmina and it works.

  4) What happens instead is it crashes consistently:
