Cups Server = localhost (the drop-down list only show "localhost")

CUPS web interface by clicking on a remote CUPS printer.

Do you have machines running CUPS 1.5.x or older in your network? If
not, you do not need to make cups-browsed to do legacy CUPS
broadcasting. It is enough to keep only the line "BrowseRemoteProtocols
dnssd cups" as non-comment line in /etc/cups/cups-browsed.conf.

yes, we have cups 1.5.3/ubuntu 12.04



could it be some thing like an access or rights issue? when the Shared
in Properties/Policies/State is unchecked, the printer disappear from
the list.
