Title:
Brightness level resets to Highest Setting at every boot
Status in gnome-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
The Highest Setting for Brightness on my Lenovo laptop computer is too
bright. To improve the appearance and conserve energy I lower the
brightness setting by about a third of the way.
> System Settings
> Screen
> Brightness
Unfortunately, every single time I boot the computer, Ubuntu resets
the Brightness Setting back to the Highest possible setting. This
means that EVERY time I boot into Ubuntu, I have to bring up System
Settings > Screen and reduce the brightness. This is really annoying!
Ubuntu needs to "remember" what level of brightness I set and
"preserve" this settings through Restarts and Shutdowns.
