Title:
nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_simple_async_result_complete()
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: nautilus
On an Oneiric i386 20110526.1 daily-live system in an "Ubuntu Classic
(no effects)" session, I right-clicked on a file whose name ends with
".log.old" and clicked "Open With Other Application...", and this
crash occurred. After Nautilus restarted, I repeated those steps with
the same file, and the crash did not recur, so I don't know how to
give good instructions for reproducing this bug. If and when it occurs
again, I'll try to post more information. Hopefully the attached stack
trace will make effective debugging possible.
I've attached the file I tried to open. I want to emphasize that while
this file is /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old, this bug probably has nothing to
do with xorg itself--that just happens to be the file I was trying to
open.
This resembles closed bug 406180 (though it was a different action
which produced that crash). That bug affected 4 people on Karmic, and
was marked Invalid (and also closed upstream) by its original reporter
when he could no longer reproduce it.
