I am running ubuntu 14.04 and pidgin 2.10.11 and I currently have 1539 zombie processes from pidgin after an uptime of 72 days.
I am also experiencing pidgin dropping out of my Sipe connection quite frequently and then having to press the "reconnect" button many times to be able to rejoin my conversations.
Is there actually any solution to this? I see lots of people reporting the same problem but I do not see any actual solutions posted or even any replies from pidgin package maintianers indicating any interest in solving this problem.

  After upgrading to Kubuntu 13.10 pidgin is constantly creating new
  zombies.
