[Bug 1449089] Re: Regression: compiz 1:0.9.11.3+14.04.20150313-0ubuntu1 segfaults on Radeon HD 7470/8470
It's weird that the Compiz update would cause this. The only changes in
the last Compiz SRU are a blacklist for Nvidia cards for disable X to GL
syncs and the removal of a texturesCache in the animation plugin that
caused issues on Nvidia cards and that's it. The texturesCache was
unused and only caused issues in the Animation class destructor, so I
fail to see how that could be causing this issue.
And that's it, no other changes, so I'm really thinking Compiz is a
victim here. Without any other clues such a core dump, it will not be
easy to prove either way who's to blame though.

Title:
Regression: compiz 1:0.9.11.3+14.04.20150313-0ubuntu1 segfaults on
Radeon HD 7470/8470
Status in compiz package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
After taking the 20150313 update of Compiz, compiz segfaults on Dell
Optiplex 7010 workstations with a Radeon HD 7470/8470 graphics card.
I'm going to get try and get more debugging information, but there was
not a stack trace in the kernel.log, only a single segfault mention in
/var/log/syslog.
