I was trying to update nvidia-331-updates (which installed
nvidia-340-updates) and install nvidia-346-updates at the same time from
Synaptic.

I just couldn't install nvidia-346-updates (nvidia-340-updates
similarly):

This is probably the problem: userdel: user nvidia-persistenced is currently used by process 1814
I killed this process (1814 ?        00:00:00 nvidia-persiste)
and I installed nvidia-346-updates.
After restart the system seems to work correctly.

Probably not important, but maybe this will help somebody.

Bug description:
  When I manually changed repositories to vivid and was installing new
  kernels, I got a bug report with nvidia-331-updates or something like
  it. Another one when I was installing nvidia-340-updates and
  nvidia-346-updates. I'm not sure, which one is this. Maybe it's a
  duplicate or something not important, but this bug wanted to be
  reported, so I report it.
