Message #117497
[Bug 418203] Re: "Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0" doesn't make sense
** Description changed:
Firefox 3.5.2, Ubuntu Karmic alpha 4
- Firefox 7.0.1, Ubuntu 11.10 beta
+ Firefox 37.0.2, Ubuntu 14.04
1. From the "Help" menu, choose "About".
What you see:
- * "Firefox version 3.5.2"
+ * "Firefox version 3.5.2" or similar
* "Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0"
What's wrong with this:
* "canonical" is not capitalized.
* There's no such thing as "Ubuntu canonical".
- * It uses a hyphen for a non-hyphen role.
- * It's not clear what, exactly, "1.0" refers to in contrast with the "3.5.2", "7.0.1", or whatever.
+ * It uses a hyphen where, if the text even made sense, it should use a dash.
+ * It's unclear what "1.0" refers to in contrast with the Firefox version number.
What you should see:
- * "Firefox version 3.5.2", "Firefox version 7.0.1", etc
- * "Canonical customizations for Ubuntu v1.0" or similar.
+ * "Firefox 3.5.2", "Firefox 37.0.2", or similar
+ * "Canonical customizations 1.0" or similar.
