Title:
Watching DVD using VLC audio stopped; restarted VLC audio OK

Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pulseaudio

This started just this month after receiving several recommended
updates through the Package Manager. Various updates, all went in OK,
nothing running bad since. Everything OK until I tried the DVD. The
audio stops maybe 3/4 of the way through a DVD. The playback seems to
continue but no audio on headphone jacks from laptop. Removed
headphones and still NO audio through laptop speaker. Restarted DVD
using VLC and then scrolled to where I had been and everything played
fine, audio/video OK to end of DVD. This has happened three times
over about 5weeks. Happens on more than one DVD but not always on
same DVD. Most of the time all works OK, DVD playback audio/video no
  problems.
