Title:
Aw Snap problem with chromium-browser v41
Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
This is related to #1409214, but not only limited to YouTube.
I don't blindly upgrade my packages automatically, but upgrade
manually only when necessary. Right after I upgraded my chromium-
browser, from v40.0.2214.111-0ubuntu0.14.10.1.1111 to
v41.0.2272.76-0ubuntu0.14.10.1.1118, I'm experiencing this Aw Snap
problem, even on gmail itself. Before that, in v40 everything had been
fine.
The symptom is that gmail mail-index listing will show up fine, then
the calendar starts to load with "loading...". Right after that -- "Aw
Snap". Repeatable every time. I attempted every possible fix that
error page links to, but in vain.
chromium-browser mlist shows lots of such problems recently:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topicsearchin/chrome/Aw$2C$20Snap%7Csort:relevance
Some says their gmail problem was fixed by disabling google chat, but besides gmail problem, I can't even visit theweathernetwork any more. E.g., http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/canada/ontario/, got "Aw Snap" before page even shows up.
This happens right after I did the upgrade (without reboot). Failing
these two sites that I visit every day every minutes, I have to
install the latest dev build from
https://launchpad.net/~saiarcot895/+archive/ubuntu/chromium-
dev/+packages
And right after that (again without reboot), I can visit gmail and
theweathernetwork again. So I believe the problem is the chromium-
browser v41.0.2272.76-0ubuntu0.14.10.1.1118.
Details:
Before the upgrade:
