Title:
gnome volume control applet does not update hardawre volume if
starting from mute
Status in “gnome-media” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-media
This is on a fully updated 9.10
gnome-media:
Installed: 2.28.1-0ubuntu1
When I increase the volume via my mouse using the applet (ie: left
click and then drag the slider upwards) and the volume level is at 0%
the actual volume coming out of the speakers is only updated once I
release the drag. This is very annoying because one will instinctively
move the slider further and further and upon release be greeted with
really loud sound.
When the volume level is anything other than 0% it updates in real
time. My guess is that the "unmute" event is linked to the button
release event on the slider. (depending on your hardware you can even
hear the thing being unmuted when you release the mouse button)
