Even Gnome finally came to their senses & have re-enabled open-with on folders. So possibly Wily will be ok. 
Utopic is almost dead so who cares but this should be officially fixed in 14.04 rather than just thru a ppa

  This rev removed the context option.

  While unlikely to be reconsidered upstream I know many Ubuntu users find the option handy.
