[Bug 1262829] Re: pavucontrol causes entire Gnome session to hang

Christoffer, sorry that no-one had time to resolve this bug report
before the Ubuntu version expired. But a lot changes between releases,
so it's possible that the bug has been fixed anyway. If you still
experience the problem with a current version (e.g. 14.04 or 15.04),
please reopen the report.

** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu)

Title:
pavucontrol causes entire Gnome session to hang

Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I recently installed pavucontrol, and everytime I run it the entire
Gnome session hangs after a few seconds. The mouse pointer will still
move, but the window manager and all windows are frozen. System still
runs though, as I can access the other virtual terminals just fine.
Nothing gets printed to /var/log/syslog when this happens.

I'm tagging this as a problem in gnome-session, but I realise it may
well be in pulseaudio or the audio driver.
