[Bug 1377029] Re: Default filenames contain colons, making it hard to share screenshots

Thanks for your bug report.

Note that Nautilus automatically replaces the colons with underscores
when you move the screenshots over to a NTFS/FAT partition or drive;
however, other file managers (such as PCManFM) may not do that.

If you haven’t yet do so, please file this bug in upstream’s bug tracker
at bugzilla.gnome.org.

Title:
  Default filenames contain colons, making it hard to share screenshots

Status in One Hundred Papercuts:
  Confirmed
Status in gnome-screenshot package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Colons aren't allowed on "Microsoft-based" filesystems (NTFS, VFAT),
  and quite a few websites also don't allow colons in filenames of
  uploaded files (because downloading a file with such a name on a
  Windows system is, apparently, problematic).
