3g-modem ZTE MF190A isn't treated correctly
Status in usb-modeswitch package in Ubuntu:

Status in usb-modeswitch source package in Lucid:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
Good day!
I'm using Linux Mint 9 = Lucid LTS, and have a long ongoing problem with having my 3g-modem working.
Firstly - I know, this bug is related to, for example, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/542902, but there is no solution to such a problem. And more, for each modem-model it goes as an another new bug.
In the Internet I found no trusted info about my modem, so, if
needed, I can provide any log of any step I've done to make this modem
happen.
First of all, its default id is 19d2:0117, but system automatically
changes it to 19d2:2000, which is not working. After that change Usb-
modeswitch cannot help in any other switching. There is no
/dev/ttyUSBX after plugging the modem in, so its about udev (or
something like usb-storage, modem-modeswitcher or smth), not
NetworkManager.
I've even got a usb-sniffing log (from Windows), which is written
while initializing modem by special prog.
None of steps like "apport-collect" work properly, because it says
"this is not a genuine LInux MInt kernel", or smth like this.
