file that demonstrates this problem with specific, step-by-step
instructions on how to reproduce?

  [Upstream] overwriting text in libreoffice word loses bold formatting

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  To replicate:
  1: Type some text
  2: Select some of the text and format as bold
  3: Deselect the bold text
  4: Select some of the bold text
  5: Type something else

  Expected result: the new text should also be bold
  Actual result: the new text is not bold, and is sometimes even a different size and font from the surrounding text.
