[Bug 1154092] Re: ligthdm immediately returns to greeter after succesful login

Maybe you need to make sure you home directory is owned by you, log in
through a tty and chown your home directory to your name, a incorrectly
owned .Xauthority or .ICEauthority could be the problem

Title:
ligthdm immediately returns to greeter after succesful login

Status in lightdm package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
On ubuntu 13.04 beta ligthdm immediately returns from session to greeter after succesful login.
This bug is related to, I summarize to important information from there:

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/944784
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/944736

However I never bothered to check if that bug was fixed, because I
switched to gdm to log into sessions now.

  =Summary=

After login lightdm throws me back to console and I can see startup
output for a sec. I have been using unity-3d before. But I tried all
unity2d, gnome, deleted the .dmrc and so forth. Guest login works,
  creating a new user works.

in syslog there is a line
  Mar 12 14:55:04 caput sudo: pam_ecryptfs: pam_sm_authenticate: /home/hub is already mounted

  I provide the lightdm-log directory
