Title:
projector can't get to 1280x720 anymore

Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
After upgrading to 10.4, my Panasonic AX 200 projector (2nd output in
a twinview configuration) no longer can do its native resolution of
  1280x720, but reverts to 1024x768

  xorg.conf reveals this:

  Section "Screen"

  # Removed Option "metamodes" "CRT: 1280x720 +1680+0, DFP: nvidia-auto-select +0+0"
      Identifier "Screen0"
      Device "Device0"
      Monitor "Monitor0"
      DefaultDepth 24
      Option "ExactModeTimingsDVI" "1"
      Option "TwinView" "1"
      Option "TwinViewXineramaInfoOrder" "DFP-0"
      Option "metamodes" "CRT: 1024x768 +1680+0, DFP: nvidia-auto-select +0+0"
      SubSection "Display"
          Depth 24
      EndSubSection
  EndSection

After changing the metamodes line back to 1280x720, I don't get any
  output anymore on the projector.
