  Logout in 10.04 causes blank screen/system hang

Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

  Using Kubunto 10.04, on attempt to logout from KDE, screen goes blank
  and system hangs,  No response to Ctrl-Alt-Del, must use physical
  reset.

  Using Nvidia accelerated graphics driver v96 installed via Kubuntu
  Hardware drivers feature

  This appears similar to Bug #574344 but is still a problem for me;
  repeatable every time.
