Title:
Corrupted video on Live CD with nVIDIA Cards
Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Since Maverick I get video corruption right when the desktop should be shown on screen. My computer has an nVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M. I have the problem even after adding vga=771 as an option to the startup line. I've been reading on the Internet that many users have this problem, all with relatively new nVIDIA cards. Maybe the culprit is NOUVEAU?
This problem is an awful regression introduced in Maverick that should be fixed and marked with HIGH importance because it may prevent new users from adopting Ubuntu: it is a horrible first impression!
