Title:
Computer completely freezes on bluetooth disconnect

Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I am experiencing an issue where disconnecting a wiimote (bluetooth
device) will cause the whole computer to freeze and require a hard
restart. There are a couple scenarios that will cause the issue to
  occur:

1 - use any program that allows connecting a wiimote to the computer.
finish using that program and disconnect the wiimote. start vmware
  workstation. my computer freezes.

2 - start vmware workstation. start wmgui (available in the package
manager). connect a wiimote with wmgui. when i go to disconnect the
  wiimote, the computer will freeze.

I have tried several programs that connect to the wiimote and any of
them will lead to the same issue upon disconnect. But the freeze will
only happen if vmware is running, or if i start vmware without first
restarting the computer. Also, I don't believe this to be a vmware
bug. I have found similar issues to this online where vmware is not
involved. There are likely other programs that would cause the same
issue, but I haven't run across one. I did find a similar issue from
back in 2007 that involved a bluetooth phone and nautilus (Bug #103365
https://launchpad.net/bugs/103365) that was closed due to lack of
  information.

I found an old report from redhat back in 2003 that had a comment
"(the crash happens only if user side processes have been launched,
like hcid)". I realize that vmware is not open-source and not
supported here, so if If there is some program you would like me to
try and reproduce the issue with other than vmware workstation, I will
  be glad to.

Also, I'm not sure how to collect information for this bug. The computer completely locks up. Please let me know if there is a log somewhere that would help diagnose this.
