actual archive found version also has the same issue.

  Clicking sound menu crashes unity-panel-service

Bug description:
  When i click on the sound menu indicator, every other indicator but
  the messaging menu disappears. Scrolling the mouse wheel on the sound
  menu indicator icon to change the volume is still possible. I can't
  tell when this bug started to appear.

  additinal information i can provide i would glad to help you.
