Title:
  nvidia driver leaves me with unrecoverable black screen after boot
  splash

Bug description:
  When I install nvidia-current, I get a black screen after the splash
  at boot. The only remedy I can find is to boot into a recovery mode
  and uninstall nvidia-current and return to nouveau, which has its own
  host of critical problems.
