[Bug 1477566] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke() seemingly without user interaction
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1438210 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1438210
Apport has said that this is a duplicate of bug #1438210 but as I cannot
view that bug I cannot comment on whether it is correct or not. Why is
that one a private bug but this one a public one?

Title:
compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke() seemingly without
user interaction
Status in compiz package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
The error reported in the bug report does resemble that of
Bug #727041 unity-window-decorator crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()

Bug #724874 unity-window-decorator crashed with SIGSEGV in g_cclosure_marshal_VOID__OBJECT()

Bug #726897 unity-window-decorator crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()

However all of those seem to state they needed some user interaction.
I was using my keyboard and mouse through Synergy to control a laptop.
I should not have been exorcising any of the onbox GUI when this crash
seemed to occur. I have a second crash report listed under /var/crash
/_usr_lib_unity-settings-daemon_unity-settings-daemon.1000.crash but
when I tried to report it I was instructed to update nautilus-data and
see if it still occurs. This confused me as the Software Updater did
not list this as needing an update but when I do `apt-get upgrade -s`
I can see that it is listed.
