  Restart stops on login screen before desired reboot

Status in gdm package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: plymouth

  When I give the restart order by pressing the shutdown button, then "Restart", it sometimes logs me off and stops at the login screen, doing nothing. The restart is not done.
  I then have to manually restart from the login screen. That works.
  It should restart directly.
