[Bug 556815] Re: keyring window steels focus when clicked on install button in list view

This bug report seems to be about two different things.

If it's about the list interfering with scrolling once software finishes
installing, then this is the same as bug 629638, which is now fixed. If
you still experience that problem, please reopen and comment in that bug
report.

On the other hand, if it's about the authentication dialog grabbing
focus, then this is Invalid; grabbing focus is exactly what it's
supposed to do. (See for example bug 433851, complaining about how
sometimes it doesn't.) But if the dialog took more than about a second
to appear, that would be a bug.

Either way, I don't see anything here that needs fixing, so I'm marking
it Incomplete.

Title:
keyring window steels focus when clicked on install button in list
  view

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

  Steps to replicate:
  1: open software center
2: select package for installation from huge `get software` list (without going to `info` page)
  3: click install
4: continue scrolling down the list of applications
5: software center will now steal focus from whatever thing you were looking at farther down the list of applications, and bring it back to your previously-selected-for-install application's line, telling you it's done installing with a little `installed` thing

  Expected outcome:
I would expect the program to not redirect focus in that way, and instead maybe use the system pop-ups that appear bottom right (by default) or in some other place within the application so focus is not redirected.

I'm using ubuntu 10.04 pre-release with the latest updates
and ubuntu software center Version: 1.1.23
  on amd64 (if that matters).
