[Bug 1486038] [NEW] wireless disabled by hardware switch on suspend + resume

Public bug reported:

Hi,

I am using the HP Pavilion 15 - ab032TX
(https://hpshopping.in/HP_Pavilion_15-ab032TX_Notebook_Laptop)

The network adapter used is Realtek 8723BE.

and I'm using Ubuntu 15.04 on live usb.

I experience the following bug:

When I suspend/sleep the laptop then on resume

What one would expect:
Automatic reconnect to home wifi network.

What actually happens:
The wireless is not connected.
The NetworkManager applet shows "Wireless disabled by hardware switch"
and "Enable Networking" is grayed out.

The following was tried and does not solve the problem:

Clicking on any of these options (enable networking/enable wireless)
does not yield anything.

The laptop has no "switch" for wireless, only a button (F12) for "airplane mode".
Pressing this button makes no change either.

The same problem was experienced after trying other linux distros
(Ubuntu 14.04, Fedora 21, Debian 8)

The problem persisted after installing rtl_wifi driver
(https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new)

** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
