  'Compress' gives cryptic error message

Bug description:
  Navigate to /var/log
  Attempt to compress dist-upgrade folder using right-click 'Compress' functionality
  Compression appears to work but gives 'An error occurred when adding files to the archive' error message

  This should not appear or should have a 'details' section which
  actually tells what the problem is.
