Title:
Broadband does not start if set available to all users

Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I am using a 3G datacard (modem) Option GlobeTrotter Express 7.2 . If
I set the network manager in default way (i.e. connectiona available
only for me as current user) then it works.

However if I try to allow also other users (by clicking corresponding
field) then I can not connect to the internet. I can only see that the
network icon on the gnome panel indicates that NM is trying to connect
and this lasts forever and does not connect.

And why other users? I have also the root user on my system and may
sometime need to work and connect also as root. BTW, in my normal
account I do not use default UID and GID offered by the system (during
installation procedure) because I always prefer to have these numbers
same as I have them on a machine of my employer. (I.e. my group is
"users" with GID 100 and I deleted group "konopka" from the system.)
I thing these changes should not cause problems anyway. I do not
encounter any problems with permissions etc; I can normally administer
the system under user name konopka as it is usual in ubuntu (via
sudo). I would be surprised if my reported NM issue was caused by the
fact that I changed my GID.
