[Bug 1066209] Re: Typing in the dash is slow with multiple monitors

Sorry folks, but as part of the bug clean up ahead of 16.04 I'm marking
this as invalid because it affects an Ubuntu release which is now
unsupported. If you can still recreate this bug in a supported release
please do open a new bug and we can triage it for consideration in the
16.04 development cycle.

Title:
Typing in the dash is slow with multiple monitors

Status in Unity:
  Invalid
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
This is an up to date (13 Oct 2012) 12.10 install on an HP Folio 13 notebook (i5-2467M CPU @ 1.60GHz, 4GB RAM, using the integrated Intel GPU).
Opening the dash and typing in the search bar is very slow (can't give numbers, but typing feels like beeing connected by ssh to a machine at the other end of the world).

My setup has two monitors (laptop's and an external one). With only
one monitor the situation is slightly better, but still far from being
  acceptable.
