Bug description:
Binary package hint: chromium-browser
chromium-browser with gecko-mediaplayer hangs randomly on KDE unless
gecko-mediaplayer is rebuilt with --without-gconf
See http://code.google.com/p/gecko-mediaplayer/issues/detail?id=64 and
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=24507
Having installed http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/20100323
/lucid-desktop-i386.iso in Sun VirtualBox 3.1.4 I installed chromium-
browser 5.0.307.11~r39572-0ubuntu1 and gecko-mediaplayer 0.9.9.2-1
using KPackageKit.
On the first start of chromium I've got a message saying that the page
"Getting started with Google Chrome" became unresponsive. I was not
able to reproduce that, but in a while I got the same message for
"http://code.google.com/chromium/", this time I didn't press any
button and the page loaded in a minute. I'm unable to reproduce it
again.
Rebuilding manually gecko-mediaplayer with --without-gconf had fixed
the same issue for me in Karmic.
May be it's possible to have gecko-mediaplayer built with --without-
gconf in multiverse for Lucid?
