Title:
icon of a new entry is added without an extension

Status in alacarte package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When adding a new entry to the application menu via alacarte, it's
specified icon is processed incorrectly. Namely, it's extension is
ommited. For example, if the icon's name is "foo.png", then the
program creates a desctop entry with Icon set to "foo" instead of
  "foo.png".
