[Bug 1432827] Re: display corruption and crash with Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300

Thanks for your answer Christopher,

Unfortunately I don't have access to this laptop anymore: I will try to
borrow it as soon as possible, but this is certain that I will not be
able to provide these information very soon…

Regards,
Yvan

Title:
display corruption and crash with Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hi,

Sorry for this poor bug report, I couldn't manage to use "ubuntu-
bugs": it never leads me to the webpage where I can add a comment and
validate. I am also not sure against which package this should be
  reported.

So, using Xubuntu 14.04 64 bits on a Dell Latitude D820 with the
  nouveau driver (1:1.0.10-1ubuntu2, with libdrm-nouveau2
2.4.56-1~ubuntu2), there is random display corruption at bootsplash
followed by a crash of nouveau. The graphical card is a "Quadro NVS
110M/GeForce Go 7300" as reported by lspci.

In my opinion, this is random only because the bootsplash of Xubuntu is not very "ressource demanding" : see those two bug reports for the exact same problem on Debian and Fedora:
  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=773368
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1102066

Strangely, the crash comes more often if I use more recent kernels. I tried the last "minor version" of all "major version" downloaded from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/, all with the same result :
   linux-image-3.14.35-031435-generic_3.14.35-031435.201503071936_amd64.deb

You will find attached dmesg from 3.13 and 3.15 kernels, and
Xorg.0.log from 3.15 kernel. I could catch them using SSH from another
  computer.

No idea if this could help, but this old bug might also be interesting:

Do not hesitate to ask for more informations, I would be glad if I can
  help in any way.
