[Bug 985430] Re: Can't unshade windows

Hi I just upgraded from lucid LTS to Trusty LTS because I had Lucid
operating practically everything I use flawlessly - but It became
obsolete and needed upgrade.

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS - the first linux release that window shading is fowled.
I'd rather dump unity than sacrifice window shading.
linux window shading is one of my most frequently used features - old habits die hard - especially when the habit is productive.

So here it is October 2015, and still hand-sitting on this issue?
updates have not fixed it for me so far.

Are we at ubuntu 14.04-4 yet? maybe then some headway on this?
So few posts here since the op - is every one satisfied with non-unity sessions to solve this?
learning to live with unity, or maybe not.

  Can't unshade windows

Bug description:
Shading a window with Ctrl+Alt+S works fairly well, and the same key
combo unshades too, but only if you haven't changed focus between the
  shade and unshade.

  TESTCASE:
  1. Open a window and shade it (Ctrl+Alt+S).
  2. Switch focus to another window or just click on the desktop.
  3. Click on the title bar of the shaded window and try to unshade it with Ctrl+Alt+S.

Observed: The previously focussed window gets shaded, instead of the
currently focussed (shaded) window being unshaded.

Expected: The currently focussed (shaded) window should be unshaded.

  WORKAROUND:
Right click on the title bar of the shaded window and select "Unminimise".
